2026 UPDATE!

Long time no update!

So whats new? Well..

Just over a year ago in May of 2025, I was caught up in the second round of lay-offs bringing my almost 8 years at N3twork (now dissolved) to an end. Following that was around 8 months of searching for the next gig. And while there were a few promising leads, phone calls and interviews, the state of the Game Dev has been volatile, with layoffs, project cancellations and company closures being a weekly occurrence for several years now. Of course that means there are more people looking for work than there are jobs available.

So what am I doing now?
I was fortunate enough to know the right person and get a recommendation to join a new project as a full-time contractor for a small indie studio Eastbound Games, joining the team back in February.

It’s been great so far. I’ve enjoyed the work, and the small team and hope that it continues for some time.

What’s the future look like?

I’ve been fortunate in my time working in games to have been employed for a decent amount of time between two companies. Contracting is pretty new to me and it’s not without it’s own potential pitfalls. You tend to work for as long as the project needs you or the company wants you. The hope is things take off and maybe my role becomes a more permanent/stable one.

That said I’m always on the lookout for the next full-time opportunity in whatever industry will have me so if you think I might be a good fit, feel free to reach out!
